Sustainability

Recognition that the only basis of human life must be a sustainable way of living was the starting point of the Marienhöhe Energy Agency. It is an optional and voluntary work group consisting of students that plans and realizes energy saving projects on the school campus. They work independently with the support of teachers.

The students of the Energy Agency have already installed several photovoltaic systems and a wind turbine which produce part of the electricity used on the campus and save a considerable amount of carbon dioxide yearly. In regional and nationwide competitions they have won lucrative awards. The prize money is invested in new projects.

The Energy Agency is open for students from grade 8. Participation is attested in the reports and through half-yearly certificates.
